  • meongtitle Kyle “Neonlare” Riley has reforged the baffling Action 52 opus Meong into a NES-styled action-puzzler reminiscent of Adventures of Lolo. The story involves a blue-robed thief who goes tomb raiding in China. Avoid traps and occasional mind games to get to the next screen.

    The game uses just the arrow keys and a single button, which is used to reset the level when you get stuck. Unlike its older cousins, Meong comes from the modern indie school — so don’t worry too much about dying. You fail, you just try again from the start of the screen. Sometimes the music restarts; usually not.

    meong For various unexplored reasons, Riley cut short development at the last minute. The game is complete in the sense that it’s playable, and all the art assets and sounds and music are in place. I’m not sure how many levels it’s got, but they’re ample. The game even includes cutscenes and dialog. What the it lacks is a few extra features like riddles, a dungeon map, and some dialog. The final two dungeons are also missing.

    As it stands, Meong has a great tone and some pretty good level design. It’s worth an eyeball! You can download Meong here.

      Hey there, thanks for this feature, I'm really flattered to see my game being posted up here, I just wanted to clarify one thing though. I managed to get the last 2 dungeons completed for the timeline, the Wood and Water dungeons, so all the main gameplay elements are within the game. It's just the maps and the riddles along with item collection that had to be dropped. I hope everyone is enjoying this game. Thank you very much for the mention!
