The Game-Maker revival continues! Invasion of the Blobs designer Mike Perrucci has now begun development on his first game in 15 years, a quiz game expanded from an unconventional level in Invasion of the Blobs II. To quote the author:
+
}}Wordlock is a puzzle game by Mike Perrucci.  The inspiration came from the Moredhel wordlock chests featured in Betrayal at Krondor.  In that game, chests with riddles written on them can be found.  The player must rotate tumblers and spell out the correct answer  to unlock the chest and claim the treasure inside.

: "It's called Wordlock. Basically, it's an expanded version of Level 18 from Blobs 2, which was a clone of the Moredhel wordlock chests from Betrayal of Krondor. I've attached some screenshots that show my progress. Right now, it's about 40% complete and should be done by mid-2013."
+
This concept was recreated, for the most part, for level eighteen of Perrucci’s previous game, Invasion of the Blobs II.  A force field prevented the heroine, Melissa, from reaching the lair of the final boss. The barrier could only be disabled by solving three riddles.

No better way to break back in than to tackle a weirdo unexplored genre! Hooray!

Wordlock increases the number of riddles to one hundred.  The protagonist, if it could be called that, is a common arrow cursor.  It functions just as you would expect, except movement and “clicking” is performed with the keyboard instead of a mouse.  As the game progress, you collect keys that open a series of locks that guard a large Esc key.  What would happen if the cursor pressed it?

}}Wordlock is a puzzle game by Mike Perrucci. The inspiration came from the Moredhel wordlock chests featured in Betrayal at Krondor. In that game, chests with riddles written on them can be found. The player must rotate tumblers and spell out the correct answer to unlock the chest and claim the treasure inside.

This concept was recreated, for the most part, for level eighteen of Perrucci’s previous game, Invasion of the Blobs II. A force field prevented the heroine, Melissa, from reaching the lair of the final boss. The barrier could only be disabled by solving three riddles.

Story

There are no villians. There are no weapons. There are no heroes. There are only 100 wordlocks, a cursor... and you.

Instructions

Use the arrow keys or the numeric keypad to move the cursor.

Touch this icon to view a wordlock. To solve it, change the green letters by “clicking” them with the spacebar or 5 key. Keep clicking until you spell out the right answer. You get one point if you do.

When you think you have the correct answer, wait a few seconds. If the red light turns green, exit to the right. If it doesn’t, try again. If you’re stumped, touch the white light to quit. You can return anytime.

As a last resort, you can put the letters from each tumbler into columns. Then pick one letter from each column to spell a word. Something special will happen if you solve all 100 wordlocks. Good luck!
