The third game in Tyner and Caudel's Star Avenger series. Comparably abbreviated; the ambition was to tell several intertwining story threads from several different perspectives, each represented by a different design type. What we get is three test levels, the third of which can't even be completed.
Cool in-engine cutscenes, introducing the levels with narration and starfield effects.
Level one is an isometric shooter reminiscent of Sega's Zaxxon. It tries to use a variant of the controls from the original Star Avenger, but it doesn't quite work. The ship doesn't move as it should, the controls are mapped too strangely for the perspective, and the corridor is too narrow to effectively navigate.
This seems to lead to the development of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.
Level two a throwback to the original Star Avenger, but a bit more refined.
Level three harkens to the likes of Space Invaders or Galaxian, except the goal is just to survive until time runs out. This seems to set up the development of Star Avenger 4.

Story
You are a member of the elite Star Avengers. Yes, the alien orb ships from Star Avenger have returned and, yes, you have to stop them. There are several different scenarios that you, playing as different members in different ships, must complete.
In the first, you are told to go to Salpok and get to the blue teleportation ring.
The second scenario puts you on Yaculv in a level like that of Star Avenger I, but lasts almost twice as long! Survive for about a minute. It's harder than it sounds.
In Barr, simply shoot the orb ships as they come down.
