I just remember creating an enemy who was supposed to be 2 blocks tall, and having the legs run around independently of the head and torso. Which was pretty funny.

I don't fully recall why I stopped working on the game, probably because as a kid I'd get bored pretty easily with stuff like this. I did all the work on a 386, and I probably didn't think it was important enough to make the transition to my next computers."

It was side view, but the main character could move in any direction, because he was capable of flying. No jumping. He could also punch to the left or right, but it didn't really do anything because I couldn't figure out how to make that work. When your character was in an idle state, I seem to remember that there was no way to have him facing the direction he last walked. There was only one idle pose. Even as a kid, that kind of annoyed me.
