FULL ENTRY COMING SOON!
The sixth game in the Adam's Birthday series.
Not as carefully designed, as lampshaded in the storyline.
Pokeball; pikachu
Lots of black, invisible obstacles, preventing Adam from jumping or navigating as expected
Lots of odd background threats: spikes, exploding doorways popping into view
Bear clones don't necessarily stay on their platforms
Black background calls to mind the creepiness of early NES games.
Game actually makes use of the crawl move to good effect, but if you stand up and glitch out of the level boundaries, the game punishes you with insta-death
Death comes very easily in general. You start with 25 HP, which can be drained a bit by background threats -- but one touch of a monster, and you die bloodily.
Level two -- is this what Palladia would have been like? Superhero level where you soar around, trailing flames, "rescuing" people behind lit windows and avoiding insta-death from a huge, hard-to-avoid multi-block monster.
Choose difficulty; no level 3 if you choose easy.
Level 3 is a trip through Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace, complete with cinematic vertical back-and-forth level structure and a large leap of faith at the end.
As in Adam '97, there is some extensive, if more consciously slapdash, use of .FLI animations, including footage from The Phantom Menace with Adam Tyner's face superimposed.
