Although promised, these games are confirmed never to have existed. Many of them are sequels to existing Shareware games; the documentation describes all the benefits to registration, including additional episodes or bonus games. In many cases the authors put off development of these games until someone expressed interest. In many of those cases, a noted lack of response equaled a lack of motivation to get going on the projects.

This category is not to be confused with games that are simply unknown. It is clear that these games never existed in the first place, though there may have been some planning involved. Yet as potential and phantom projects, occasional objects of rumor, they are still part of the Game-Maker legacy.
