Fun fact: Squadrons technically isn’t the first Star Wars game I’ve worked on...the first game I ever made was WARS.EXE, created with RSD Game-Maker in 6th grade iirc. It was not...good. But I learned a lot. :)

I made several top-down games and sidescrollers with Game-Maker, which were all varying degrees of janky and broken.
The first I ever made was called WARS.exe, a mash-up of Super Star Wars for the SNES and the PC space sim X-wing.
PRO TIP: Don't try to make a 3d space sim with a 2d sidescroller engine.
