Assembled around the same time as James Faux's abandoned Blaster Master tribute, his take on Capcom's Section-Z balances the authenticity of BM and the lack of content in Eclypse and Moonchild. The game, such as it is, consists entirely of an animated title screen and a meticulously sequenced cover of Yamachan's and Tamayo Kawamoto's original theme from the NES game.
Granted, the animation and Faux's take on the Section-Z theme are both of a very high quality. But that's the entirety of the project: no maps, no characters, nothing to play or do.
Aside from high score, config, and executable files, Section-Z consists entirely of four files: Faux's SECTIONZ.CMF music file, the menu animation, the actual .GAM file that ties these elements together, and -- curiously -- an original palette file. The palette seems derived from the default palette that Faux often used, which in turn may be derived from Autodesk Animator's default palette.
Whether or not more was planned for Section-Z, or if the game more substantially exists in another form, is uncertain. The palette does, however, suggest at least some intent to design some in-game graphics.
